Irrfan Khan’s Son Babil Is ‘Speechless’ As Kal Penn Reaches Out To Him; Says ‘Knowing Your Father During The Namesake Was Part Of My Artistic Happiness’
Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil was left ‘speechless’ as he received a heartwarming message from Irrfan’s The Namesake co-star Kal Penn. In his message to Babil, Kal Penn wrote that he wanted to reach out to him, but was unsure of how to get in touch. He reminisced working with late actor Irrfan Khan in The Namesake, and wrote that knowing him was such a joy.  As Babil shared the message on his Instagram stories, he wrote that he was speechless to have gotten a message from Kal Penn.

Kal Penn, in his message to Babil, wrote, “Babil, I'm so moved that you reached out and it means so much to me to hear that story. Thank you. The Namesake is the project I'm most proud of, the one that brought me the greatest artistic happiness - and getting to work with and know your father was such a big part of that. (I think I met you and your brother in Calcutta when we were filming).” He further wrote that he thought about them a lot last year after Irrfan Khan’s death, and that it means a lot to him that Babil reached out to him.

“I've thought of you two and your mom a lot this past year and wasn't sure how to get in touch to share my love and gratitude. It really means so much to me that you reached you. Thank you! — Let me know if you're ever in New York post-pandemic. And please give my love to your mom,” wrote Kal Penn. Sharing this, Babil wrote, “What is happening? How to write a reply when you're speechless? @kalpenn."
